New Year
I've been out a few times since the New Year, it's so cold and I don't really have the proper gear... keep meaning to get a tracksuit get-up but evertime I consider it in the store, I'm like "Man, if you wear this you will not look cool." Anyway, it feels great once you get going, and I have all the trails to myself at this time of year, except for the occasional dog-walker who usually gives me this "You're out in this weather?" kind of look.
But I've been doing yoga consistently for a good while now and it's really starting to pay off. Feeling good just sitting in this chair here, muscles aligned and nothing sore or too tense. Yoga is great for that. But sadly, only jogging takes off the pounds.

Work It
Man I have been so bad since the weather got cold... I haven't been for a run in, like, three weeks. Pretty shameful for a guy with a jogging website. But that's why I made it, for these low motivation times when I need the kick in the pants of "dude, you have a jogging website, and you haven't been for a run in, like, three weeks"
I've been doing loads of yoga so I'm not in bad shape at the moment... but I'm truly cursed, with this lengthy break away from jogging I've put on so much extra weight. Even sitting here I can feel newly formed love handles. No matter what other kind of physical activity I do, only jogging gets that stuff under control. So maybe I've hyped myself up enough to go brave the elements.
You probably noticed the "christmas buddy" jogging logo when you came in, I pinched it from some guys blog, where it was resting on Saddam Hussein's head (who else)

I just took some cues from Missy Elliot and "I put my thang down, flip it and reverse it" in Photoshop. Isn't digital life wonderful? I can swipe Saddam's christmas hat that he probably swiped from a still of "The Miracle on 34th Street"
So you keep on keepin on, and I'll try to get out there. If you want to inspire me drop a line in the "And You!!" section!

Fall Slump
Man, I've really been lazy lately, haven't run in over a week. There are a hundred excuses but no real reasons. Am going to drag myself out there today after school, even if it's hailing. As the school year grinds on my motivation sinks lower than ever... this is when I need my joggingbuddies the most!

Well, I did it, put in a short three miler after work. But most of it was in the dark, I almost ran into this lady and her dog. There aren't any lights along the trail. Is running with a speulunker headlamp silly looking?

Got in a long run this weekend, beautiful weather here, cool and sunny when a typhoon isn't coming through. But lots of earthquakes happening in the middle of the night. Need to run as much as possible before the weather gets too cold.

Typhooned
Now Playing: NPR Morning Edition
This has been an awful month for jogging, two or three typhoons have blown through in the last weeks and I haven't had the pluck to go running in the downpour. But this weekend my friend from Denstone, Pete came up and we managed to get in a punishing run during a break in the rain. It felt good but the next day I was pretty useless. As the weather worsens and temperature drops, I'm going to need a lot of extra motivation!

October 2
Put in 3 miles yesterday, but it felt terrible. Took most of last week off due to bad weather and low energy and it really showed on the trail yesterday. Today it's rain from one end of the sky to the other, so will have to find a window where I won't be completely drenched. Good luck everyone!
